How do I fix a raised scar?
Gender: Female / Age: 18 - 29
Question: Hi doctor. I had a tumor (thankfully not malignant) excised when I was younger and ever since I've been left with this 1.5 inch raised scar. Is there a way to get rid of it?
Dr. Schultz: A persistent raised scar at a surgery site is easily treated with tiny (almost painless!) cortisone injections, repeated every three to four weeks until the scar lump flattens out. Very easy to fix it.
