In the category of late-breaking news, the manufacturer of the filler Evolence, Johnson & Johnson, this past week announced that they were withdrawing Evolence from the market. I assure you it was strictly a business decision and not based on any problems relating to safety or efficacy of the product. As a matter of fact, Evolence is one of my favorite fillers and one of the favorite fillers of my patients because it is so good at filling deep, broad areas like the areas below the corners of the mouth and the nasolabial folds. If you are accustomed to getting Evolence treatments, there’s no reason for concern because there are many other fillers that will be used in its place to take care of your filler needs, such as Juvéderm, Restylane, other forms of collagen, and Sculptura. As a matter of fact, in the past few months, another new filler was introduced by the name of Hydrelle and the reason we are going to do an episode on Hydrelle next week is because Hydrelle is much less uncomfortable than most of the other fillers.
