Hello, I am Dr. Neal Schultz, and welcome to DermTV. Acne, it affects so many people. As a matter of fact, it affects so large a part of the population that some people even call acne normal, but that is a very little consolation to people who have acne and whose acne is not getting better. Many viewers write to me and tell me they have acne, their current treatments are not working, and they tell me how miserable they are from their acne. Yes, we know that the emotional impact of uncontrolled acne can cause erosion of self-esteem and self-confidence. It is a real bummer. But I have good news: acne is completely treatable with the proper treatments. We have topical treatments that will effectively treat three-quarters of all the acne out there, and for the one-quarter that does not respond to those topical treatments, we have oral medications. We have antibiotics, birth control pills for women and Accutane for anybody whose acne is not responding to the topical medications. So, the bottom-line here is: if you have acne and it is not responding to what you are doing, take control of your situation. Reach out and get effective treatment that will make your acne go away and make your life so much better. That treatment, I am happy to tell you, is available. Please join me again at DermTv.com.
