When I usually speak about cleansing your face, I recommend using both a cleanser and toner to get the maximum synergy of removal of dirt, oil, sweat, dead cells and debris, without irritation. But when you need a quick refresh and aren’t near a sink, what’s the next best way to refresh your face? Stay tuned!

There are lots of reasons to wash your face when you wake up: from simple hygiene, to helping your skincare products work their best. And also… just because a clean fresh face feels good!
But in the course of the day there are many times when activities or heat and humidity cause an oily, sweaty, dirty or even just unpleasant sensation on your face. And when that happens, you’re often not near a sink where you can wash.
The good news is that the solution is simple. If you want your face feeling fresh anytime, carry in your bag a travel size plastic bottle of toner solution as well as some makeup remover pads. And when you need refreshing, stop for a moment, put some toner on a pad, and gently wipe your face. You’ll see hues of gray, yellow or even tan appearing on the pad as the toner extracts all the sweat, oil, dirt and debris that are causing your uncomfortable feeling. Use a second one if needed and wait a few seconds for any residual toner to evaporate from your face. Then you’ll have that fresh feeling once again! And do this as often as you want.
Yes, toner does remove makeup, but if your skin needs that refreshing, trust me, your makeup needs refreshing also.
And another very valuable tip: since the most important time of the day to clean your skin, other than in your AM or PM skincare routine, is before you exercise, if you’re on your way to a class or the gym and haven’t just washed, pull out your toner and pads to remove the acne causing debris on your skin before you sweat and rub it into your pores, causing clogs and pimples.
