In-Office Lunchtime Glycolic Peel Demonstration

Today we’re going to do something a little bit different, by now you know how important I think daily exfoliation is as one of the three principles of processes or products that you need to do to have beautiful and healthy skin. Today I thought I would demonstrate an in-office glycolic treatment this is Marina, Marina is one of my nurses, and today I am going to demonstrate how easy it is and how simple it is to have an in-office glycolic treatment.

Certainly at home the glycolic products that you use are anywhere from 8 to 10 or 15 percent and they are very helpful at removing dead cells to make the skin color more even, to give the skin a luster and brightness, and to make the skin healthier but when we do a treatment in the office we use 30 or 40 percent glycolic and it is stronger and accomplishes more.

The first thing that we do is prepare the skin, I take a toner which I put on a cotton pad and I just clean off all of the oil and debris off the skin and the reason that we do this is to prepare the skin the same way uniformly every time we do a glycolic treatment so that the glycolic can always have the same affect, Just the way we cleanse the skin every time before we put any other products on, we allow the toner to dry. I then take the actual glycolic product, which I removed from this dispensing bottle, on a cotton pad and I very carefully wipe off the extra glycolic and with even gentle strokes I am covering the skin with a very thin layer of this glycolic product which is 40 percent, in so doing (marina roll your upper lip into your mouth) just to get all of the corners, around the eyes, and up to the hairline. This product will stay on her skin for about 2 to 3 minutes. She may feel some tingling but there will be no burning and no discomfort and from this procedure there will be no redness, she won’t actually see any flaking or peeling even though we call it a “glycolic peel” it is also called a “glycolic treatment”, a “lunchtime peel” but again no visual downtime from it no ill affects. In about another minute to a minute and a half, Marina is going to rinse her face at the sink and she will know that all of the glycolic product is off her skin because the skin will stop tinkling and she will not feel the stickiness on her skin of the glycolic product.

That is all there is to an in-office glycolic treatment, it’s harmless and it is very helpful for more beautiful and healthier skin.
