On this New Year’s Eve Day, as we’re getting ready to welcome the year 2010, I’d like to suggest three simple New Year’s resolutions for your skin.
The first is, know your skin type. It is so important to know your oil and water skin type, whether your balance is normal, dry, oily or acne-prone, or combination. Because, if you don’t know your skin type, you can’t buy the right products for your skin and, if you buy the wrong products for your skin type, those products may not only fail to help you, they could even make you worse.
Resolution number two—establish a daily skin care routine. It has been shown time and time again that people who have regular routines have much better looking skin and healthier skin. Use your moisturizer and your toner and whatever active ingredients you want to use, whether its sunscreen or antioxidants or exfoliants, but if you use them regularly, you’ll have more even-colored skin, smoother skin and fewer acne breakouts.
And lastly, resolution number three—protect your skin and make it glow. Protecting it is easy—use sunscreen everyday and a topical antioxidant very night. And to make it glow, make sure you’re using a topical exfoliant, whether it’s a chemical exfoliant or a physical exfoliant, because it will make your skin smoother, give it more of a luster, make it healthier, and also, you’ll have fewer acne breakouts again. So, on this New Year’s Eve, I’d like to wish everybody a happy and healthy New Year, and wishing you good health and beautiful skin.
