Hello, I’m Dr. Neal Schultz and welcome to DermTV.
One of the most fun parts about being a cosmetic dermatologist is preparing the bride and her bridal party for her wedding day. Every bride wants to look just perfect on her wedding day and, you know something, most of them really do. But it takes some work. Most engagements last 6 maybe 12 months, so today, I’m going to give you tips of things you need to start doing in that 6-12 month period before your wedding day and, in subsequent episodes, I’ll tell you what you need to do to be perfect as time draws closer to your wedding day.
So, in this first period, there are three things to concentrate on. First of all, if there is any unwanted hair, whether it is in visible places like your face or in other places, it’s time to start laser hair removal treatments, because they take 3-6 treatments spaced about a month apart so you want it all gone before your day. Second, you’d be surprised how many brides-to-be have men’s names tattooed on their wrists or ankles. Now, if the name that is tattooed there doesn’t match your fiancé’s name, it’s probably time to get that tattoo removed. Laser tattoo removal is permanent, doesn’t leave any scars, but it can easily take up to a year with treatments every month or two months, so get those treatments started. Third, and perhaps most of all, every bride wants to have a glowing clear complexion on her wedding day, so make sure you’ve already started your regular routine of skin car with a cleanser and toner that is skin type appropriate for you, using sunscreen every day , topical antioxidants every day and exfoliants every day as well as moisturizers if you need it. So get started in your routine of preparing to look perfect on your wedding day, and in the next episode, we’ll tell you what you need to do as we get a little closer to that day.
