Some sun worshipers believe that the reason you get a tan after a sunburn is one of gods ways to make sure everybody has more beautiful skin, I don’t think so. So what is a tan, when the skin is injuried it has a couple of ways of protecting itself and when it’s burnt it darkens. When you get a sunburn the brown color you get acts as a natural SPF to prevent an additional ultraviolet injury. As a matter of fact medium brown, african american skin has a natural SPF of 15 or 16. The bottom line is if your skin is darkened, the skin is damaged, if you want to protect your skin from additional sun damage don’t try to use a tan, use sunscreen it really works. Even with sunscreen you would get some sort of a tan but that tan will be much less dangerous than a natural tan.
